Dr Dan

Dr. Dan has a keen interest in the well-being of his patients. In practice since graduating in 1995, he has learned over a dozen techniques for Clinical Neurophysiology, neurological restoration, functional neurology, physical medicine, as well as acupuncture and auriculotherapy. He has studied under such leaders as acupuncture master Dr. Richard Yennie, 1998 “Man of the Year” for the World Health Organization, Dr. Burl Pettibon, Dr Dennis Woggon, and Dr. Terry Oleson.

Dr Dan has ordered and read hundreds of advanced imaging and electrodiagnostic tests for his patients while in practice in the United States. He has had extensive clinical success treating pain syndromes, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, migraines, arthritis, shoulder injuries, and low back pain. He has taken extensive training in auto accident rehabilitation, pain management, and working with General and Medical practitioners for the benefit of the patient, with a multi-disciplinary approach. He has treated literally thousands of patients with work-related injuries, repetitive, and acceleration-type injuries.

He is the developer and holder of 2 patents for computer keyboard improvements to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome.

Dr. Dan comes from a family of medical doctors, graduating from the likes of Harvard University and Johns Hopkins Medical School. Dr. Dan chose a natural route for becoming a physician, in closer keeping with his philosophical values that the body can heal itself if it is giving the right tools, resorting to drugs and surgery only as a last resort. His first experience with natural medicine was at the age of 9 when he was hit over the head with a board by another child 3 years older than him. Soon after this injury he developed chronic bronchitis, headaches, insomnia, and the beginnings of scoliosis. His father took him to a chiropractor, who treated his spine and nervous system for the injury, and he soon recovered from his sickness. Years later, while playing rugby and other sports, he injured his knee and the school physician recommended arthroscopic surgery. Instead Dan’s father (himself a chronic pain sufferer from a failed low-back surgery) took him to a different chiropractor who helped heal his knee without surgery, allowing him to fully function in sports once again within months.

When deciding a career path, he first attended the University of California as a genetic engineering major, completed his pre-requisites, and applied to Parker College of Chiropractic, where he graduated in 1995, having also attained postgraduate certification in acupuncture and additional training in Pettibon spinal correction and rehabilitation. He managed a large clinic of as many as 5 staff doctors and 20 employees.

To this day, Dr. Dan continues his extensive research to find natural methods to treat health problems naturally, without drugs or surgery, whether it be for his own health, the health of his family, or his patients. Understanding that prescription medications are not food, Dr. Dan only recommends to his patients those substances and nutrients that he has taken himself, or feels safe to ingest himself and give his family.

Dr Dan currently enjoys living in Tauranga with his wife and daughter. He likes skiing with his family, and enjoys spearfishing since moving to New Zealand, and exploring all of the wonderful and beautiful nature this land has to offer.
